Dr. Hadija Mbembati graduated from the University of Dar Es Salaam (UDSM) with a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Science and Communications (2008) and a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering and Information Technology (2015). She graduated her PhD degree in Computer and IT Systems Engineering in the area of Smart Grid in 2022. She is explores the use of Condition–Based Maintenance for failure prediction of the critical equipment in the energy utility company, Tanzania.

After her BSc programme in 2008, Ms Hadija Mbembati remained at the University of Da Es Salaam to work as a Tutorial Assistant. She is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE), College of Information and Communication Technologies (COICT). 

She has been a coach at the UDSM ICT incubator (UDICT) since 2016. Her research interest is in i-Grid Technologies, Embedded Reconfigurable Systems, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.
