BIO
Arnold E. Matemu is an academician and researcher, currently serving as an Assistant Lecturer in the field of electronics and telecommunications engineering. He is driven by a deep commitment to teaching, research and innovation.
Mr. Matemu earned his Master’s degree in Electrical and Information Engineering from Seoul National University of Science and Technology (2023), South Korea, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Science and Communication from the University of Dar es Salaam (2019), Tanzania. His academic background has equipped him with strong expertise in signal processing and wireless communication that continue to inform both his teaching and research interests.
Mr. Matemu is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Information Engineering at Seoul National University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on enabling technologies for beyond 5G communication, including massive MIMO systems, Open-RAN architecture, and the design and application of metasurface antennas.
Beyond his academic work, Mr. Matemu is passionate about capacity building, youth mentorship, and leveraging emerging technologies to solve pressing societal challenges in Tanzania. He actively participates in collaborative research initiatives that seek to bridge the gap between technological innovation and local development needs
RESEARCH
Mr Matemu joined the academic staff of the University of Dar es Salaam as Tutorial Assistant in 2020 in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering (ETE). He assists in the teaching of undergraduate programmes. His research interests are Embedded Electronics, IoT, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Signal Processing.
