BIO

He received a BSc degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) in 2008, an MSc degree in Telecommunications Engineering in 2015, and a PhD degree in Smart Grid (2022), all from the same University. His PhD research focused on ICT-based solutions to modernize the legacy grid to automatically detect and clear faults in the low voltage distribution network.

WORK AND EXPERIENCE

Dr Godfrey William Chugulu is a mobile telecom expert/consultant who has more than 10 years of experience in the mobile telecommunication industry in Tanzania where he provides solutions to operators/vendors facing challenges on capacity, coverage, and interference issues. He is a Lecturer in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering (ETE), College of Information and Communication Technologies (CoICT), University of Dar es Salaam. His research interests are Wireless Communication, Mobile Communication (2G/3G/4G/5G), Smart Grid, and Hybrid Communication Architectures. He is among the pioneers of Challenge-Driven Education (CDE) in Tanzania. a research phenomenon that tries to link academia with the industry to offer solutions to real-life challenges facing our society.
