BIO

Dr Baraka Maiseli received a PhD degree in Control Science and engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China, in 2015, where he emerged as an outstanding international graduate. Between 2015 to 2017, Maiseli pursued his postdoctoral research at HIT.  Prior to his PhD programme, Dr Maiseli studied BSc Electronics Science (2006) and MSc Electronic and Telecommunication Engeering (2009), both from the University of Dar es Salaam.

WORK AND EXPERIENCE

Between 2015 and 2020, Dr Maiseli worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE), College of Information and Communication Technologies (CoICT). From 2020 to the present he has been serving as Senior Lecturer.

He has authored or co-authored more than 30 publications and is the peer reviewer of several international journals: IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, Signal Processing, Digital Signal Processing, IET Biometrics, Neurocomputing, Pattern Recognition, IET Image Processing, IET Signal Processing, Tanzania Journal of Science, IEEE Transactions on Education, Inverse Problems, and Recent Patents on Computer Science, among others. His research interests include deep neural networks, machine vision, image and video processing, robotics, mechatronics, and their engineering applications, and embedded electronics.

RESEARCH
