Dr Moses Ismail received a BSc in Telecommunications Engineering (2008), an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering (2013), and a PhD degree in Telecommunications Engineering (2021), all from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM).
Dr Moses Mchome is a Lecturer in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering (ETE) in the College of Information and Communication Technologies (CoICT). Previously, between 2008 and 2015, he worked and participated in various consultancies in the telecommunication industry as a Radio Network Engineer at HiTs Tanzania, Vodacom Tanzania, and Nokia Siemens Networks. He has also worked as a System Processing Auditor at PwC Tanzania.
Dr Mchome's areas of expertise and research interests include Wireless Communication with specific interests in wireless systems design and integration; and Industrial 4.0 technologies such as the Internet of Things, Machine to Machine communications, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain. Moses is an Innovator Entrepreneur and enthusiast in user-centered products design and development. He has been grooming youth at the University of Dar es Salaam ICT incubator (UDICTI)’s startup academy, Youth for Children (Y4C) innovation hub, and Challenge Driven Education Hub with experience spanning over ten years.
Through UDICTI Startup Academy, Y4C, and CDE, he has overseen several products of social and commercial values developed and/or commercialized. Between 2016-2018, Moses was a founding contributor to the Tanzania Data Lab (dLab), where he worked as an M&E consultant, Business Developer, and Trainer through the Data Collaboratives for Local Impact (DCLI) project funded by the US via the Millennium Challenge Cooperation (MCC). He is also a coordinator of UDICTI and the wireless communications research group at the ColCT.
