Dr Angelina Misso

Education and Training

Dr. Angelina Misso holds a Ph.D. in Communications and Network Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), focusing on  massive MIMO antennas. She received her B.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering in 2009 and M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering in 2013, both from UDSM in Tanzania.

Work Experience

Dr. Angelina Misso is a Lecturer in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, College of Information and Communication Technologies (CoICT). She joined the University of Dar es Salaam as a Tutorial Assistant in 2010. Dr. Misso teaches undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and supervises students. She has been engaged in several collaborative research projects and consultancies. She is a researcher with interests in wireless communication technologies, massive MIMO antennas, innovation, and eLearning. Dr. Misso has published in international conferences and journals including Taylor and Francis, Springer, and IEEE. 

 

Dr. Misso is passionate about promoting innovation among the youth. She is a coach at the UDSM ICT Incubator (UDICTI). As a coach, she trains and mentors university students in idea development and business establishment in the ICT field. She is also a coordinator at FinHub at UDSM, a fintech-based innovation hub focused on addressing challenges in the financial sector using ICT. She has also been engaged as a judge in innovation competitions including Code Like a Girl Innovation Competitions by Vodacom Tanzania and dLab, in Dar es Salaam, and the UD-AIEC Innovation Competition by UDIEC of UDSM, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Dr. Misso was the examination officer at the ETE Department from 2012 to 2018. She was also the Professional Development Programs Coordinator for ETE Department from 2022 to 2023. She is also a Registered Graduate Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Tanzania.
