Eng. Dr. M.M. Kissaka received a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 1989, and a PhD degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Manchester, the United Kingdom in 1994.
Currently, Dr Kissaka is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, College of Information and Communication Technologies (CoICT), University of Dar es Salaam. He is involved in teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students and carrying out research and consultancy activities in the field of ICT. His research interest includes Wireless Communication and e-Learning.
Dr Kissaka has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, and Computer Networks for more than twenty-three (23) years. He has supervised a number of MSc, PhD and BSc students and he has examined a number of MSc and PhD thesis and dissertations. Dr. Kissaka is also an external examiner to local and international academic institutions. Dr Kissaka is a member of Wireless Communication Research Groups (WCRG) and e-Learning Research Group (eLRG) at CoICT.
Academic Leadership
Dr Kissaka has served as Head of the ETE Department for more than eight years and as the UDSM Director of the Centre for Virtual Learning (CVL) for three (3) years. From 2015 to 2021 he served as the Principal, College of Information and Communication Technologies (CoICT) and a member of UDSM Senate.
Professional Experience
Dr Kissaka is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) in Tanzania since 2003 in the telecommunications engineering field. He has undertaken numerous consultancy assignments related to electronics, telecommunications, and ICT.
